We are currently recruiting a Pre Certification Specialist to join us at Fertility Institute of NY and NJ , Position is Part-time position, Monday- Friday.
The Precertification Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks regarding verifying, checking eligibility of benefits, and obtaining authorization for patients, activating patient files, and for providing support to patients and medical staff. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls (as well as retrieve messages that are received via answering service). Route calls appropriately, offering voicemail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed.
- Scanning patient documents into the EHR system appropriately.
- Explain financial requirements to patients; collect and record transactions as required.
- Obtaining precertification's from insurance payors for onsite ultrasounds, various testing, and procedures.
- Perform registration functions for new and existing patients.
- Check patient balances for next day appointments and document in patient charts accordingly.
- Coordinate and screen outside referrals for insurance needs
- Completion of Disability/ FMLA/ Letters for patients
- Additional internal administrative duties pertaining to eligibility, authorization, insurance as assigned.
- Schedule patient appointments per guidelines given, and finalize patient schedules for previous day.
- Cross train for providing coverage for surgical scheduler, and obtaining authorizations for such outpatient cases.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patients.
- Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies through HIPAA compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
