We are currently recruiting for a Part Time OB/GYN Sonographer for our Brunswick Hills OBGYN in East Brunswick, NJ.
Hours : Wednesday & Friday 7AM-3PM, 12PM-8PM Thursday
Essential Functions:
- Reviews any prior images and imaging reports prior to ultrasound exam.
- Reviews and verifies physician’s orders.
- Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains procedures, measures and positions patients for each anatomical view.
- Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations in accordance with approved techniques and protocols, ensuring the transducer (probe) is correctly capturing images.
- Presents images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
- Evaluates images for quality and interprets images captured.
- Maintains patient records; adds medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment and sterilizes room between ultrasound patients.
- Utilizes PACs, EMR, and other systems related to imaging.
- Stocks and replenishes supplies as required.
- Maintains certifications by completing any assigned compliance and continuing education requirements.
- Trains other Ultrasound Technicians as needed.
- Performs other associated duties as assigned.
Qualities & Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to accurately document scan findings.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Education & Experience:
- Formal education and completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program required.
- Current RDMS certification from ARDMS in Ob/Gyn required.
- At least 2 years’ recent experience performing obstetrical scanning preferable.
- Current FMF or NTQR certification in NT (Nuchal Translucency) preferable.
- Additional ARDMS certification in Breast (BR) and Abdomen (AB) desirable.
- Additional ARDMS certification and experience in Fetal Echocardiography (FT) desirable.
- CPR certification a plus.
- eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience beneficial.
- Knowledge of specific order sets and related CPT coding a plus
