Role of Director of Data Analytics:

Diana Health is seeking a highly-motivated, adaptable, results oriented individual to take on the role of Director of Data Analytics.

The Director of Data Analytics will be responsible for the company’s data & analytics infrastructure, ensuring that everyone at Diana Health knows how their functions are performing against expectations and how our company is doing as a whole. They will also be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to improve the overall performance of the company, and working with central team and on-site staff to bring such tools or operational changes from conception to reality.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong analytical and communications skills and who wants to apply those to the dynamic challenges of a start-up.

What you’ll do:

  • Be the primary engineer developing and maintaining our suite of analytics software

○ Manage and maintain a suite of internal python- and pandas- based tools.

○ Integrate data from sources such as our EHR (Athena Health), HR, Phone system, Provider scheduling, and Accounting systems

○ Streamline and speed up our existing infrastructure, while building out new tools and data sources as we grow

  • Communicate performance throughout the company

○ Conceptualize and build out dashboards to help the executive team and non-technical staff understand performance against targets

○ Develop a “self-serve” infrastructure so other staff can efficiently answer their own analytical questions

○ Work with our operations and other functional teams to ensure that our dashboards are user friendly and get them the information that they need.

  • Run focused projects to deep-dive on specific areas of concern

○ Together with our Chief Performance Officer and the rest of our executive team, identify key areas needing further investigation

○ Perform analyses that go just the right level of depth to flesh out the specific issues at hand, but not so much that users are overwhelmed

○ Develop systems (tools; processes) to ensure that the identified issues are monitored and do not repeat

  • Develop tools and processes to improve operational performance

○ Identify main opportunities where central-team or on-site performance can be improved

○ Build out user-friendly internal tools that our teams can use to perform their work better or more efficiently

Who you are:

  • You are a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • You are comfortable with, and excellent at, maintaining complex systems of software

○ Experience with python and pandas required

○ You focus on solving not just the problem of today, but instituting a system that works in the future (is maintainable; works across multiple developers / users; anticipates bugs and fails predictably and cleanly)

  • You love getting in the details of data…

○ Everyone trusts our reports, so they have to be right. That means getting very, very deep into the nuances of data. You have to love getting into the weeds to understand why each particular number is the way it is

○ You embrace the challenges of getting a new data set and having to understand what it says and what it doesn’t. You know that the first pass of data oftentimes can be deceiving, and so check and double check and triple check the results to make sure they make sense.

  • … but you also know that ultimately you have to see the big picture

○ You also know that while you have to be the details person, that’s necessarily in service of communicating to everyone else the high-level story

○ You relish the process of transforming those individual pieces into a coherent set of actions

  • You are proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities

simultaneously

  • You are flexible and adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing startup environment

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; ideally in computer science, math, engineering or data-focused field
  • 5+ years work experience in an analytics role with daily management of python-based tools

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, dental & vision plans, with an HSA/FSA option
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off
  • Paid parental leave

Diana Health Culture

  • Having a growth mindset and striving for continuous learning and improvement
  • Positive, can do / how can I help attitude
  • Empathy for our team and our clients
  • Taking ownership and driving to results
  • Being scrappy and resourceful
