About the Project

Our healthcare organization is launching a special focused project aimed at improving patient outreach, strengthening communication, and resolving outstanding patient account balances. We are seeking professional, detail-oriented individuals with strong customer service experience to join our remote project team.

This is a high-impact initiative for candidates who excel at patient interaction, enjoy investigative account work, and thrive in a structured, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound outreach to patients via phone, secure messaging, text, or email to address outstanding balances.
  • Provide clear, empathetic communication to help patients understand their financial responsibility and available payment options.
  • Assist patients with establishing or updating payment plans and documenting financial arrangements in the system.
  • Review accounts prior to outreach to ensure accuracy, verify insurance details, and identify potential billing or posting errors.
  • Educate patients on their statements, prior payments, and billing processes in a professional and patient-centered manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all outreach attempts, patient interactions, and payment commitments.
  • Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality goals established for the special project.
  • Collaborate remotely with billing, care navigation, and patient support teams to ensure a consistent, coordinated approach.
  • Uphold all HIPAA policies and compliance guidelines during remote work.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of proven experience in customer service, call center, patient outreach, or healthcare billing/collections.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions.
  • Experience working remotely with reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and strong time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with medical billing, insurance terminology, or patient responsibility preferred but not required.
  • Ability to navigate EMRs, billing platforms, and patient communication tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and stay organized in a remote environment.
