Company Description

Meet Mae

Mae is a venture-backed digital health solution on a mission to improve the health and quality of life for mothers, babies, and those who love them. Mae has created a space where complete digital care meets culturally-competent on-the-ground support. We address access gaps and bolster physical and emotional well-being through continuous engagement, risk assessment, early symptom awareness, and a community-led model of support for our users.

Digital solutions to address cultural deficits in care are at the forefront of femtech innovation and Mae is quickly gaining traction with healthcare payers as a viable solution to address the implicit, explicit, and structural biases that hinder equitable maternal health. In addressing whole-person care and focusing on self-advocacy, education, and community, we seek to improve the outcomes for mothers and birthing people, while also reducing clinical costs of care, at impactful scale. See what we’re doing at www.meetmae.com and @maehealthinc on Instagram.

At Mae, we are:

  • Solution-Oriented. We make every problem an opportunity to improve.

  • Curious. We demonstrate focused curiosity.

  • Mission-connected. We ensure mamas and doulas are heard.

  • Adaptable. We learn, adapt, and execute.

  • Data-driven. We quantify the uncertainty.

  • Accountable. We own our decisions and their outcomes.

  • Transparent. We don’t hide the hard stuff.

Job Description

Mae is looking for a Product Manager who can think strategically and execute effectively. Reporting to the Head of Product, you’ll own and advance product areas that directly impact Mae’s members, doulas, and internal operational teams. You’ll guide the development of scalable, user-centered solutions that drive engagement, revenue realization, and measurable health outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment and can balance the discipline of process with the agility of innovation. You’ll manage end-to-end product delivery — from discovery through post-release optimization — and play a key role in shaping how Mae scales across various markets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead Product Strategy for Assigned Areas: Define and maintain the strategic roadmap for your assigned product areas, grounded in user need and aligning with Mae’s business and operational goals.

  • Drive Discovery & Problem Solving: Conduct structured discovery and translate insights into clearly written problem statements, hypotheses, and user stories that guide design and engineering execution.

  • Collaborate Across Internal Teams: Partner closely with internal business and customer-facing teams — who also serve as key user groups — to deeply understand workflows, identify pain points, and translate feedback into scalable product solutions.

  • Leverage Data & Insights: Use both quantitative and qualitative research data to evaluate impact, inform prioritization, and iterate on solutions that improve performance and outcomes.

  • Deliver Seamless Execution: Work cross-functionally with Product Marketing, UX Design, Data, and Engineering to ensure initiatives are scoped, prioritized, and delivered with quality and clarity.

  • Ensure Post-Release Readiness: Support the launch execution, rollout, and adoption of key product initiatives by aligning with Product Marketing and Programs on communication, training, and feedback loops.

  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Apply a continuous improvement mindset — learning from users, data, and team collaboration to refine processes, product experiences, and operational impact over time.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, ideally managing tech-enabled services in a highly regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, education, financial services). Digital health experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution — leveraging data, user insights, and collaboration across Product Marketing, UX Design, Data, Engineering, and internal business teams to drive measurable impact. You can connect day-to-day work to business outcomes and user needs with clarity and precision.

  • Product Development: You have experience owning the full product development lifecycle — from discovery and definition through execution, launch, and post-launch iteration. You know how to frame problems, define hypotheses, and synthesize user insights, business needs, and operational goals into clear product decisions. You collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, and cross-functional partners to deliver impactful solutions.

  • Project Management: You’re highly organized and effective at managing complex projects with multiple workstreams. You drive timelines, manage dependencies, and coordinate across teams to ensure initiatives stay on track and move from planning to delivery with structure, clarity, and minimal oversight.

  • Fast Learner & Research-Driven: You’re resourceful and a quick learner who can rapidly develop subject-matter understanding through independent research and collaboration with internal experts. You navigate ambiguity with curiosity and initiative.

  • Strong Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — including writing clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation that enable alignment and action from Design and Engineering partners. You also communicate effectively with cross-functional partners and executive audiences, presenting insights and decisions clearly.

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Embraces a culture of learning, iteration, and operational excellence. You proactively identify opportunities to improve product development workflows, document best practices, and help implement process changes that drive clarity, efficiency, and stronger cross-functional execution. You use feedback, data, and user insights to refine both product experiences and the way we build them.

  • Ownership & Accountability: Takes full ownership of assigned product areas and drives work forward independently while maintaining clarity, structure, and alignment across teams. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are trusted to follow through — from idea to execution — with consistency and excellence.
