Supervisor, EH&S

POSITION SUMMARY:
● Reports to the Director of Sustainability and oversees daily EH&S operations.
● Provides direct supervision to EH&S staff and ensures program execution across multiple sites.
● Leads regulatory investigations, risk assessments, and response efforts.
● Develops and maintains SOPs, training programs, and safety-related documentation.
● Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
● Supports a proactive, safety-first culture through leadership, accountability, and continuous
improvement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and workload prioritization for EH&S staff to ensure consistent execution of safety programs and regulatory compliance.
● Lead incident investigations, regulatory inspections, and the development of corrective action plans
in alignment with local, state, and federal requirements.
● Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and
training content that support a safe and compliant workplace.
● Monitor EH&S performance metrics, identify trends or risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Natera facilities.
● Serve as the point of contact for internal stakeholders and external agencies on matters related to environmental health and safety.
● Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Provide a list of qualifications that are truly required (e.g. Education and Experience, Equivalent job experience
substituted for degree, preferred level to perform principal responsibilities, required certifications to successfully
perform principal responsibilities, etc.)
● Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or
a related field required.
● 7–9 years of progressively responsible EH&S experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
● Demonstrated experience developing and managing EH&S programs across multiple regulatory
areas (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT, local/state agencies).
● Ability to obtain or maintain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and wear a full-face respirator.
● Valid driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
● Comprehensive knowledge of EH&S regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, DOT,
NFPA, and local health/safety codes.
● Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach and develop EH&S
professionals.
● Analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the use of data to identify trends and drive
corrective actions.
● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal teams,
external agencies, and vendors.
● Project management capability, with experience in implementing and maintaining safety
programs, audits, and training systems.
● Proficiency in EH&S software tools and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with digital training or
incident management platforms preferred.
● Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to emergency or time-sensitive
safety concerns.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
● This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone
and read printed material.
● Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times.
