Job Description

The Position

The Associate Director of MedTech Sales Force Effectiveness will spearhead initiatives to enhance sales execution and training programs across the Medical Device Business Unite sales force. This role is crucial in ensuring our field sales team, including Territory Managers, Clinical Sales Educators, and Regional Managers, are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resources to excel and advance their careers.

Responsibilities

  • Training Standardization: Collaborate with Learning and Development, Field Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Commercial Operations to create and implement consistent commercial training programs.

  • Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough gap analyses with internal stakeholders, training teams, and the MedTech Business Unit to identify current and future learning needs.

  • Curriculum Development: Partner with Learning and Development, internal brand teams, and Commercial Operations to develop, execute, and maintain a comprehensive skills and business training curriculum.

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Foster long-term, trust-based relationships with stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Medical Education) and cross-functional business partners (Learning & Development, Sales Operations).

  • Curriculum Alignment: Ensure training curricula align with the Field Sales Lifecycle, from new hires to leadership development.

  • Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions to enhance the commercial capabilities of sales representatives, managers, senior sales leadership, and external partners.

  • Program Effectiveness: Evaluate program metrics to assess training impact and identify areas for growth and success.

  • Product Launch Support: Lead and support training initiatives for product launches.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, business practices, and compliance guidelines, including FDA, AdvaMed, and FTC regulations.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in medical device Sales Force Effectiveness, field sales training, sales, or sales management. Experience of 5+ years with a strong sales background preferred.

  • Vision and Innovation: Demonstrated vision around innovation in learning and priorities needed for successful commercial learning and selling skills programs.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to author persuasive communications.

  • Procurement Understanding: Understanding of procurement capabilities and their impact on sales and marketing in executing a customer-centric approach.

  • Sales Abilities: Multi-product or multi-indication sales abilities; ability to articulate value-based sales models, including sophisticated account pre-call analysis and top-down account management.

  • Disease and Product Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate depth of knowledge and skill in disease state and product.

  • Consultative Abilities: Identifying internal client needs and making appropriate recommendations for effective solutions.

  • Negotiation Skills: Experience working with leadership across functions to identify shared needs and gain consensus on forward strategies.

  • Sales Training Experience: Proven experience in sales training and effectiveness, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry.

  • Collaboration Skills: Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Gap Analysis: Ability to conduct comprehensive gap analyses and develop targeted training programs.

  • Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of compliance regulations and best practices in sales training.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Strong Business Leader: Analytical mindset and forward-thinking attitude.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office is essential.

Remote Work: This position can be remote, supporting national geography.

Reporting: Reports to MedTech US Director of Sales Effectiveness & Market Access.

Travel: Regular travel up to 25%-50%.

The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below. Benefits offered in the U.S. include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation and holiday time, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$124,000.00 - $210,700.00
