Job Description
The Position
This Chief of Staff position reports to the Organon Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Chief of Staff operates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) of the company; however, the individual is not a Section 16 officer and does not have the same breadth of executive accountabilities.
Responsibilities
CEO Support
Coordinate with Head of Strategy on the development of the company strategy in coordination with CEO and ELT.
Determine priorities and measurable objectives for CEO based on company strategy and business value drivers.
Establish long-range plan for CEO (12 months ahead) based on strategic priorities.
Oversee day-to-day support for CEO in collaboration with executive assistants, including briefings, agendas, prioritization of commitments.
Prepare CEO for all engagements including developing succinct, compelling presentations/talking points – e.g., Board meetings, Board Chairman discussions and quarterly investor calls.
Review and work in collaboration with communications leaders on all CEO communications including press releases, company memos, external events.
Collaborate across all functions and act as a bridge for CEO to strategically important topics and issues, provide regular updates and highlight new issues as they arise.
Coordinate and attend CEO country/site visits and critical external meetings; and ensure visibility and execution on follow-up actions.
Set and manage the Organon Executive operating budget including all T&E spend for executive team.
Provide professional development coaching and work direction for CEO’s executive assistants (one each in Jersey City and Switzerland).
Embody and role model the values of Organon in every aspect of role, be an early adopter of new initiatives/change in the organization.
Executive Leadership Team and Extended Leadership Team Support
Based on business priorities, and in collaboration with CEO and ELT, set agendas for regular ELT meetings (30/year); oversee the smooth running of ELT meetings, capture decisions and ensure timely follow-up, and escalation, if required.
Structure and arrange ELT offsite events (2+ times/year); set agenda, manage content, coordinate with others on execution, capture actions and ensure follow-up.
Convene senior leadership group (top 100) monthly, select relevant topics and facilitate meetings – including annual multi-day forum.
Convene chief of staff community and maintain regular information flow to ensure tight connection between CEO and into each function.
Act as bridge between CEO, ELT and extended leadership team members; ensure smooth information flow, problem solve issues and offer counsel, as needed.
Strategic and Special Projects
Identify and lead strategically important initiatives, as required; transition projects into the business for long-term implementation.
As required, represent the CEO’s perspective and leverage own expertise, on strategically important initiatives led by others.
Maintain watch for opportunities for simplification and standardization; either address directly or escalate as needed for swift attention.
Other Role Details
Considered restricted person for trading purposes.
Travel 12 to 14 weeks/year.
Office-based role, typically four to five days per week in the office, based in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA.
Sufficient handover time with incumbent to ensure smooth transition.

The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below.
