Job Description

The Position

The Lead of the China Business Practice Office is responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution plan of all compliance programs in China, in collaboration with the China Compliance Committee and the China Leadership Team.

The Business Practice organization acts as the primary liaison between the Commercial organization and both the Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC) and International Legal & Compliance (ILC).

This position manages a team of three people, reporting directly to the China Market Lead, and is based in Shanghai.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development and leadership of compliance programs in China to boost the business team's understanding of the company's values, standards, corporate policies, compliance policies, SOPs, and guidance.
  • Support China Market Leads and functional leaders to identify and address both immediate and long-term compliance and business risks.
  • Take a proactive and influential role in ensuring uniform and effective compliance standards organization-wide, including tracking and monitoring key risk areas via systems like Pulse, and refining compliance processes such as E-event, PRC, and promotional material review.
  • Provide legal compliance policy training to commercial employees and perform compliance data analysis for business units.
  • Conduct regular self-audits of healthcare professional interactions and documentation and report findings. Act as the primary contact for Audit and Risk Assessment processes

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Audit, Finance, Compliance, or a related field within the healthcare industry, ideally in pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
  • Extensive expertise in compliance-related areas, including laws, regulations, procedures, policies, and SOPs, with familiarity with international guidelines and standards.
  • Demonstrated high ethical standards, acting as a model for compliance and integrity in business practices.
  • Proven ability to influence senior team leaders, with strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Fluency in English & Chinese is required.
