Job Description
Introduction
- Serves as a critical member of the China Medical Affairs Leadership Team (CMALT), a TA head is a role to lead and manage a professional medical affairs team (including medical advisor team and medical science liaison team) to generate an outstanding performance in defined therapeutic area.
- He/she is required to support country medical director on medical affair excellence by taking the overall responsibilities in developing Organon China medical strategy/plan; medical supports on product positioning and differentiation, life-cycle management, new product launch and product crisis management as well as defined therapeutic area cross-function collaboration, scientific exchange and relationship maintain with TA related HCPs/SLs/KDMs/Societies, budget control and talent development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership/supervision, set short and long-term strategic direction for the HQ/US/Country Field Medical Staff in alignment with Organon organizational goals.
- Identify, establish and manage collaborative professional relationships with national, regional and clinical practice scientific leaders (SLs) and investigators to identify and address scientific needs and to ensure access to medical and scientific information on areas of therapeutic interest and Organon data or products.
- Facilitate appropriate scientific exchange of information with Scientific Leads, including integration of scientific knowledge with actionable insights to inform Organon strategies.
- Communicate external stakeholder opinions, insights and feedback on new data, clinical trends and the evolving TA landscape to Medical Affairs HQ/US/Country teams to enhance scientific understanding and inform internal Organon strategies.
- Represent Organon at scientific meetings and congresses and contribute to Organon debriefs, insight discussions and post-congress reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with global therapeutic area strategy.
- Support data generation activities when requested by Organon leadership, by guiding the field team to act as primary liaisons to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research.
- Work to identify potential investigators for consideration of participation in phase II-IV clinical development programs and provide scientific support for Organon sponsored trials as needed.
- Plan and execute regional team meetings, communicate Organon R&D, Medical and Clinical information, and other relevant information to their field-based team.
- Responsible for ensuring the successful integration of new members into their assigned roles and responsibilities as well as continued mentorship of new and existing US MSLs and Clinical Liaisons.
- Liaise with appropriate cross functional stakeholders to understand marketplace dynamics and implications for Organon scientific and medical strategy and field needs.
- Responsible for having insight into the national/regional/local clinical and health care reform trends impacting Organon.
- Participate and support the development of Organon product and portfolio research strategy utilizing the regional teams’ scientific leader insights and therapeutic expertise.
- Fully comply with all company policies and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualification, Skills & Experience
Education
Major in Clinical Medicine or related area, Medical Master or above.
Experience
- Excellence oral and written English.
- Proficiency in Chinese reading, writing and speaking.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of relevant disease and clinical practice in Gynecology treatment.
- At least 6 years medical affairs experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies with a customer-facing industry experience in medical affairs department and people management experiences in phar. industry. Therapeutic area experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership with good coaching and performance management skills.
- Good business insight and strategic mindset with innovative thinking ability.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
- Strong judgment, prioritization and decision-making skills with the ability to understand how decisions fit into the broader context of corporate strategies.
- Strong problem solving skills and risk Assessment and Mitigation expertise.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, manage, develop others, and provide clear, unambiguous expectations and priorities for the team – of own staff or through networks. Comfort and confidence in working with diverse teams and backgrounds
- Handling of multiple tasks at the same time and working under pressure.
- Ability to create a working environment which fosters employee engagement with team work spirit.
- Be able to travel.
- Similar position working experience and/or experience in new drug development is preferred.
