About the Role

Our Finance team turns numbers into strategy — shaping the decisions that keep this organization moving forward and advancing medical innovation. As Director of Technical Accounting, you'll be the go-to expert on complex U.S. GAAP and SEC matters, guiding how the company approaches everything from acquisitions to hedging activities. It's a role for someone who enjoys digging into the technical weeds and then translating that complexity into clear guidance for senior leadership.

A Day in the Life

  • Stay ahead of new GAAP and SEC reporting rules, and explain what they mean for the company's financial reporting
  • Lead the accounting side of acquisitions — due diligence, purchase accounting, and coordinating with valuation specialists
  • Review contracts and transactions (hedging, financing, impairments, share-based compensation, pensions) to determine the right accounting treatment
  • Support divisions across the business with accounting questions tied to divestitures, joint ventures, and impairment assessments
  • Write up white papers documenting key judgments and conclusions on acquisitions
  • Build and maintain the company's accounting policies and procedures, and help train others on them
  • Oversee documentation of internal controls for technical accounting
  • Jump into ad-hoc projects as they come up

Work Experience

What You'll Bring

  • A BS/BA in Accounting
  • At least 10 years of experience in US GAAP and SEC technical accounting
  • CPA certification
  • Comfort managing shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Big 4 experience is a plus, but not required
