About the Role
The Medical Assistant Lead plays a key role in supporting patients, providers, and the medical assistant team throughout the fertility journey. This role is ideal for an experienced medical assistant who enjoys mentoring others, leading by example, and thriving in a fast-paced clinical environment. In addition to hands-on patient care, the Medical Assistant Lead supports daily operations, training, and workflow coordination to ensure high-quality, consistent care delivery.
We are seeking a Medical Assistant Lead to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility - Washington, located in Tacoma, WA. This is a full-time, onsite position, working Monday-Friday, from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with up to 2 holidays per year and 1-2 weekend shifts per month.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a day-to-day resource and point person for the medical assistant team, supporting clinic operations and troubleshooting workflow or patient care issues
- Prepare and room patients by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and relevant clinical information prior to provider encounters
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, treatments, and care coordination in accordance with clinical protocols
- Draw and collect blood samples, verify patient records, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as permitted by credential and training
- Precept, train, and support new medical assistant team members during onboarding and orientation
- Coach and mentor team members to support skill development, performance, and adherence to best practices
- Assist leadership with performance feedback, evaluations, and ongoing team development
- Support daily scheduling of the medical assistant team to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care
- Conduct on-the-job and role-specific training for new and existing team members and provide feedback on training effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, clinical policies, infection control standards, and ethical guidelines
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized exam rooms and ensure medical equipment is functioning properly
- Monitor, maintain, and restock clinical supplies to support uninterrupted patient care
- Promote a positive, collaborative work environment that supports teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Position Requirements
- Education & Licensure:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program and an active WA state license required.
- Maintain current BLS certification.
- Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant preferred
- Prior experience mentoring, training, or acting in a lead capacity strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinical environment
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $26.00 – $33.50 per hour (final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications)
