About the Role

The Laboratory Assistant plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the andrology and endocrinology laboratories while contributing to exceptional patient care. The Laboratory Assistant is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a collaborative laboratory environment. Working closely with laboratory leadership, physicians, nurses, and technical staff, the Laboratory Assistant helps ensure efficient laboratory operations, accurate specimen handling, and timely support of fertility treatments.

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join Pinnacle Fertility - California in Los Angeles, CA. This is a full-time, onsite position working Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM based on laboratory needs. This role also participates in a limited weekend and holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily laboratory operations, including specimen receipt, processing, handling, and documentation.
  • Support laboratory quality assurance activities, audits, compliance initiatives, and data reporting.
  • Provides embryology laboratory support including but not limited to cycle chart and paperwork preparation, cycle setup, dish preparation, witnessing and other tasks assigned
  • Assist with patient check-in and specimen collection as needed.
  • Manage and maintain cryogenic storage systems, including inventory and tracking of cryopreserved specimens.
  • Coordinate the shipment and receipt of cryopreserved specimens with third-party transport vendors while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and laboratory information systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between the laboratory, physicians, nursing staff, and other clinical teams to support efficient workflow.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, inventory, equipment logs, and administrative records.
  • Support additional laboratory projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Six months or more of laboratory experience outside of academic coursework preferred.

    • Recent graduates with relevant laboratory training are encouraged to apply.

  • Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Knowledge of laboratory safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance practices preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour (Final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
