The management team has had multiple successful exits and 3 IPOs at prior companies.
The Position: Head of Marketing
Sunfish is seeking a mission-driven, dynamic marketing leader with experience in consumer health tech marketing. In this role, you will position Sunfish as an innovator in the assisted fertility space, build our brand, grow and engage our customers to help us achieve our ambitious growth goals.
We are looking for a strategic, data-driven leader with a demonstrated track record of success with consumer, health-tech brands. This person will own all areas of marketing including GTM strategy and customer growth, customer and brand marketing, public relations and events. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced startup and make a significant impact on our growth trajectory, as our first marketing hire, and help build out our marketing division.
This position will report to the Founder and CEO of Sunfish and will require you to be in-person in our Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities
GTM Strategy and Growth
- Own Sunfish’s positioning and go-to-market strategy to drive new customer growth and clinic engagement.
- Attract, engage and retain new customers through smart growth strategies that incorporate a balanced mix of earned, owned and paid channels while managing to a CAC and LTV.
- Work closely with the head of product to increase customer engagement and reduce churn through progressive lifecycle marketing and effective product marketing strategies.
Product and Content Marketing
- Partner with the product team, founder, and partnership lead to build out product marketing strategies for our new packages including developing value proposition, messaging, and launch plans.
- Own and lead Sunfish’s content marketing efforts including—blog, vlogs, social media content—to increase engagement and conversion and SEO ranking.
Brand and Customer Marketing
- Own and manage the Sunfish brand and influence end-to-end customer experience from registration to conversion and retention, by working alongside product, operations, and customer support teams.
- Build out a best-in-class marketing stack including CRM, analytics, and content management to ensure seamless communication across all touchpoints.
- Develop omni-channel programs to nurture, engage and re-activate patient and partner clinics, ensuring high activation and referral rates.
Qualifications and Skillsets
- 8+ years of overall marketing experience with at least 4 years as a marketing leader at a growth-stage, consumer health-tech brand. Startup experience is a must.
- Healthcare experience required, fertility experience an added bonus
- Strong analytical, data-driven marketer who has deep experience managing funnels, driving organic growth, and managing sizable marketing budgets to a CAC/LTV. Skilled in using analytical tools like Amplitude, Looker, Google Analytics etc.
- Depth of experience in omni-channel marketing with a passion for building a trusted brand.
- Experienced in marketing stack including CRM platforms (Hubspot, Salesforce), messaging platform (Braze or Customer.io), demand generation and conversion tools.
- Independent, systems thinker and doer who can help Sunfish build a strong marketing foundation with processes that can scale.
- Has proven, hands-on execution experience. Exceptional team player who can work cross-functionally across the business to help meet broader business objectives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, insanely organized and highly-motivated team player.
- Undergraduate or master’s degree in business or marketing. MBA preferred.

Compensation: $120 - 200K salary, plus full-time benefits and equity
We also offer health insurance ($250 reimbursement/month), an employee stipend for office equipment, a 401K, a wonderful office in Playa Vista, Los Angeles with free gym membership, breakfast and snacks (we are in office Tues - Fri). The estimated base salary range for this position does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant.
