About Sunfish

Sunfish is a fast-growing, venture-backed Series A health tech startup. Our mission is to make the parenthood journey easy and affordable to help everyone build the family of their dreams. Used by leading fertility clinics throughout the United States, we help patients navigate and afford treatments. Our company ingests unique patient biodata to support patients using AI/ML. Sunfish’s team is composed of individuals with backgrounds in fertility, health tech, insurtech, and fintech – all with a shared passion for bringing equity to family building. And we’ve done this before – our executive team has had 19 exits and 4 IPOs to date.

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and execution-focused Social Media & Community Manager to own and grow our presence across Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn while also building and activating our real-world community through events.

This role goes beyond traditional social. You’ll be responsible for shaping how our brand shows up online and offline: planning and supporting regional B2B and D2C events, driving attendance and engagement, and capturing high-quality social content in real time.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes social, understands platform nuance (especially TikTok), and thrives in fast-paced environments where content, community, and culture intersect.

What You’ll Do

Social Strategy & Content

  • Own the social media strategy and execution across Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn

  • Plan, create, and publish organic content that drives engagement, growth, and brand affinity - including working closely with our founder and subject matter experts

  • Manage and optimize boosted/paid social content in partnership with the broader marketing team

  • Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with marketing priorities and campaigns

  • Monitor trends, conversations, and platform updates to keep content fresh, relevant, and culturally on-point

Community Building & Engagement

  • Actively manage community engagement: responding to comments, DMs, and participating in relevant conversations

  • Build and nurture a strong brand community across platforms, identifying opportunities to deepen engagement and loyalty

  • Partner with marketing and brand teams to develop community-led initiatives and campaigns

Influencer & UGC

  • Lead influencer and UGC strategy, including sourcing, outreach, relationship management, and campaign execution

  • Identify creators and community members to amplify brand storytelling and event moments

Events & On-the-Ground Content

  • Support planning and execution of regional B2B and D2C events (in partnership with marketing and partnerships teams)

  • Attend and amplify key events to capture real-time content (photo, video, interviews, behind-the-scenes) for social channels

Analytics & Collaboration

  • Track and analyze performance metrics, using insights to iterate on content and strategy

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, brand, partnerships, and product teams to bring campaigns and events to life

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in social media and/or community management, ideally in a startup or health tech environment

  • Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn, with a strong point of view on what works where

  • Proven experience creating engaging short-form video content

  • Experience producing and planning events

  • Experience with influencer and UGC programs, from outreach to execution

  • Strong copywriting skills with an ability to adapt tone across platforms

  • Comfortable being “on the ground” at events and acting as the social voice of the brand in real time

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

Tools & Skills

  • Proficiency in Canva (or similar tools) for content creation

  • Experience using Project Management Tools (e.g., Asana) for project management and content planning

  • Working knowledge of video editing platforms (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)

  • Comfortable analyzing performance data and translating insights into action

Additional Requirements

  • Must be based in Los Angeles and able to work in-office near Playa Vista

  • Willingness to travel for regional events as needed

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment

  • Creative, scrappy, and willing to experiment
