About Sunfish
Sunfish is a fast-growing, venture-backed Series A health tech startup. Our mission is to make the parenthood journey easy and affordable to help everyone build the family of their dreams. Used by leading fertility clinics throughout the United States, we help patients navigate and afford treatments. Our company ingests unique patient biodata to support patients using AI/ML. Sunfish’s team is composed of individuals with backgrounds in fertility, health tech, insurtech, and fintech – all with a shared passion for bringing equity to family building. And we’ve done this before – our executive team has had 19 exits and 4 IPOs to date.
The Position
We move fast, care deeply about our clinic partners and patients, and believe that great products start with a deep understanding of the people they serve. As we scale, we are looking for a Lead Product Manager who is equal parts strategist and executor, someone who takes pride in shipping products that measurably improve the lives of families navigating one of their most important journeys.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of clinic and patient experience. Reporting to the VP of Product, you will work closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, and Commercial teams to define what we build, drive it to launch, and iterate relentlessly based on evidence. The ideal candidate thrives in a startup environment: you are comfortable with ambiguity, you hold yourself to a high bar for product quality and customer outcomes, and you bring the strategic depth and executional horsepower to take a product from zero to one.
You are someone who doesn't just use AI tools, you think deeply about how AI can change what's possible in the product, the process, and the team. Experience in health tech, fintech, or other regulated industries where trust and transparency are non-negotiable is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Roadmap & Strategy
Execute the product strategy translating it into a clear, prioritized plan with measurable outcomes
Identify opportunities through market analysis, user research, and data, and make sharp tradeoff decisions that reflect both customer needs and business priorities
Develop high-quality product artifacts e.g., briefs, PRDs, user stories, prototypes, and specs, that bring clarity and move teams forward, leveraging AI tools to produce and iterate on these faster than traditional workflows allow
Define and track the KPIs that matter for your domain, and own reporting on progress against them
Discovery & Research
Conduct continuous discovery: run user interviews, synthesize behavioral and operational data, and turn insights into high-conviction product decisions
Use AI tools to accelerate and deepen research, from generating interview guides and synthesizing transcripts to identifying patterns across qualitative feedback at scale
Conduct competitive and market research to identify gaps, emerging patterns, and opportunities to differentiate
Champion the voice of the customer in every room, grounded in evidence, not assumption
Execution & Delivery
Drive the full product development lifecycle in close partnership with Engineering and Design, from problem definition through launch and iteration
Own sprint-level execution: participate in planning, unblock teams, make real-time scope decisions, and keep delivery on track
Actively use AI-assisted prototyping and mockup tools to accelerate design feedback cycles and reduce time from idea to testable artifact
Identify and test product and growth levers through structured experimentation, with a bias toward fast, learning-oriented cycles
Ensure operational readiness for launches, coordinating across Business Development, Operations, Marketing, and Engineering as needed
AI & Product Innovation
Support in how Sunfish thinks about and builds with AI , identifying where AI can improve patient outcomes, clinic workflows, and internal operations
Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities into the product roadmap, working alongside Data and Engineering to scope, test, and ship AI-powered features responsibly
Accelerate testing and delivery with AI-assisted product development, from using Claude and ChatGPT for faster documentation to Figma for lightweight prototyping
Stay current on the evolving AI tooling landscape and bring high-signal perspectives on where emerging capabilities create product opportunities for Sunfish
Collaboration & Leadership
Report directly to the VP of Product and serve as a voice in product strategy discussions across the company
Align cross-functional stakeholders around priorities and tradeoffs
Operate with a high degree of autonomy while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned
Contribute to building product culture, process, and hiring standards as the team scales
Must-Have Skills and Experience
5+ years of product management experience
Background in health tech, fertility, insurtech, or fintech
Familiarity with B2B2C models: selling to enterprises while serving end consumers
Proven track record shipping and iterating on products in a startup or high-growth environment - you operate without a playbook and thrive in ambiguity
Experience owning a 0→1 product launch end-to-end, from problem definition through go-to-market
Deep, hands-on fluency with AI product development tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.); you use these daily and have a point of view on where AI creates real leverage in the product lifecycle
Strong consumer or B2B SaaS product instincts, you build for humans first, stakeholders second
Exceptional discovery skills: you talk to users regularly and let that shape your roadmap
Data fluency, you can define metrics, pull and analyze product analytics data, and make evidence-based decisions
Proficiency with Figma, Claude, or other tools for design collaboration and lightweight prototyping
Experience with A/B testing and structured experimentation at meaningful scale
Excellent communicator, you write clearly, present with confidence, and align people without direct authority
Startup DNA: proven ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and build from scratch with limited resources
A bachelor’s or graduate degree in a related field
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in a senior people management role
Experience managing or mentoring other PMs, and an interest in building and leading a product team as the company scales
Experience on a marketplace or multi-sided platform, you've built for both supply and demand sides
Exposure to EMR/EHR systems, clinical workflows, or HIPAA-regulated environments
Experience building with or alongside AI/ML teams, particularly with sensitive or regulated data
