We are searching for a Full-Time Phlebotomist Floater with excellent patient service skills. This role will float between our Mokena, Hinsdale, and Warrenville offices and includes one weekend requirement per month at our River North location. Hours will vary depending on clinic needs but will be Mon-Fri 6:30-12:30. The compensation range for this position is between $21-$24/hr. The pay is commensurate with experience. This is a 30 hour per week position.
Overview:
The Phlebotomist Floater is responsible for performing high-quality, accurate specimen collection while supporting the clinical team across multiple locations. This role requires proficiency in phlebotomy, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt to a variety of patient-facing environments.
Essential Functions:
Phlebotomy & Clinical Support:

Perform venipuncture and collect specimens using proper technique and Universal Precautions

Process specimens including blood, urine, and tissue according to lab protocols

Confirm lab orders in ArtWorks and verify patient identifiers prior to collection

Ensure all required consent forms are obtained before testing

Maintain awareness of lab updates, insurance requirements, and storage procedures

Keep all phlebotomy and clinical areas clean, organized, and well-stocked

Sterilize equipment and ensure proper disposal of biohazard and sharps materials
Documentation & Systems:

Use EMR systems to process lab orders, document results, and access clinical information

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines

Follow all OSHA safety standards and FCI incident reporting policies

Complete quarterly CE requirements and assigned trainings (e.g., Ovulation Induction, Zika review)

Train and support new lab staff as needed
Teamwork & Professionalism:

Collaborate with nurses and other team members to meet patient needs efficiently

Provide clear patient education on results timelines and next steps

Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, and a patient-centered mindset

Travel to other FCI clinic locations as needed to provide phlebotomy coverage
Requirements:
-
High school diploma required
-
Certificate or diploma in phlebotomy required
-
Current CPR certification required
-
Technical proficiency in venipuncture and lab specimen processing

Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office setting preferred

Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., ArtWorks, Quest, LabCorp, ACL, genetic testing platforms)

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
