This position requires collaboration with physicians, other medical providers, and patients by providing expert care and service for fertility treatments.

We have an opening for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our new San Diego, CA office. Our office is located in the Solana Beach area of San Diego. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays. The pay range for this position is between $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant is responsible for:

  • High volume of phlebotomy
  • Maintains supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Manages lab specimens and ensures timely and accurate submission to appropriate labs
  • Utilizes the computer in entering labs and printing labels
  • Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
  • Assists with the clinical care of fertility patients
  • Assists as scrub tech in the operating room using proper sterile technique
  • Prepares OR and procedure rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Assists OR team with patient positioning and sterile draping for surgical procedures
  • Supports physicians during procedures, including egg retrievals, HSGs, and embryo transfers
  • Maintains QA/QC logs per SGF guidelines and regulatory agencies’ requirements

  • Washing, packaging, and sterilizing instruments per OSHA guidelines
  • Maintains adequate stock levels and participates in inventory management
  • Provides patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, and communicates clear procedural education
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families
  • Works independently to assure the program goals are achieved
  • Promotes excellence in customer service
  • Answers incoming phone calls
  • Schedules patient appointments
  • Collects payments

What You'll Bring:

The skills and education we need are:

  • Strong phlebotomy skills
  • High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin highly preferred
  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant or Scrub Tech program OR 3 years of hands-on experience preferred
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
  • AHA BLS required
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow through, and a high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy, and speed with data entry are required
