  • Maintain records that demonstrate PT samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
  • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies; document all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed
  • Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results; must correct the problems and/or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, clinical consultant or laboratory director
  • Study and review laboratory operating manuals and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures, and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services
  • Study and review OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation; always wear appropriate lab personal protective equipment (PPE); maintain a protective, safe laboratory environment
  • Participate in laboratory operations as directed
  • Attend laboratory meetings as requested
  • Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs
  • Attend skill enhancement programs as directed by supervisor
  • Work weekends as needed when patients are in stimulation cycles
  • Other duties as assigned/required

The skills and education we need are:

  • Bachelors degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science required
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience; reproductive/fertility experience preferred
  • Proficient in all andrology and endocrinology procedures, with the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of processing, reporting, compliance, QC and calibrations for andrology and endocrinology
