We have an immediate opening for a Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in New York City, New York. The full-time schedule is five days per week, daytime hours with one day being a weekend day, and rotating holidays and the ability to float to the Westside, New York City and/or Brooklyn, New York City locations as needed. The pay range for this position is from $43.26 to $44.23 per hour.

How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for:
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Attention to detail is essential with these duties; labeling must be clear and legible
- Perform chemiluminescent immunoassays on serum samples, using automated equipment. This includes calibrating; cleaning and maintaining the equipment as required by the manufacturer
- Perform semen analyses, including sperm count, sperm motility, sperm morphology and viability. Perform routine sperm preps for inseminations, maintaining sterile technique throughout
- Maintain records that demonstrate that PT samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies; document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed
- Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Must correct the problems and/or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, and clinical consultant or laboratory director
- Study and review laboratory operating manual and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services
- Study and review OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation. Always wear appropriate lab personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain protective, safe laboratory environment
- Participate in laboratory operations as directed
- Attend laboratory meetings as requested
- Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs
- Attend skill enhancement programs as directed by supervisor
- From time–to-time, provide assistance and support to RMA of NY satellite laboratories as requested by Laboratory Manager
The skills and education we need are:
- Have a BS in biological, or clinical laboratory science
- Current NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure is required
- Must demonstrate an aptitude for performance of laboratory services
- Must have the aptitude to learn to make appropriate judgments about the clinical significance of laboratory data
- Have proven skills to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Ability to work in a high standard, stressful environment
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
- Excellent interpersonal skills
