Opportunity Overview
We have an immediate opening for a Medical Laboratory Technologist (Andrologist) to join our team at Ovation Fertility in Nashville, Tennessee.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotating weekends (at least one weekend per month) and holidays (at least four holidays per year), with the ability to float to the Murfreesboro location as needed

In this role, the Medical Laboratory Technologist (Andrologist) will:
- Work closely with infertility specialists, OB-GYNs, Urologists, and Oncologists to provide infertility testing (semen analyses), therapeutic procedures (sperm cryopreservation and preparation of semen specimens for insemination), and cycle monitoring for in vitro fertilization or intrauterine insemination
- Prepare specimens for analysis, performing analyses following written procedures
- Perform Andrology tests without direct supervision; the Technical Supervisor will review the following test results before they are reported to the physician: semen analysis, sperm preparation for IUI, ASAB test
- Perform Endocrinology tests without direct supervision; the General Supervisor will review the following test results before they are reported to the physician or appropriate nurse: E2, intact HCG, LH, FSH, P4, TSH, and AMH
- Prepare reagents or media from written procedures and make adjustments as needed
- Confirm and verify results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments
- Recognize problems, identify the cause, develop alternatives, and determine solutions where no present criteria are available
- Indicate the need for additional laboratory tests for definitive diagnostic information in prescribed instances
- Utilize laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results in an established format
- Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks, and maintain any clinical laboratory instruments or equipment
- Recognize and correct basic instrument malfunctions; notify supervisory personnel when appropriate and contact maintenance personnel when needed
- Evaluate media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria
- Conduct established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluate results of quality control and implement corrective action when indicated
- Determine performance specifications for new methods and establish basic quality control procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills Include:
- MS, BA or BS in science or medical technology required
- Current Tennessee state license for laboratory technology with a 2-year degree required; with a 4-year degree preferred
- 2+ years of Medical Laboratory Technologist experience required; 4+ years' experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good research skills
- Advanced computer skills
- Flexibility and willingness to learn at all times
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to work some weekends
