We are looking for a Lead Medical Device Software Testing Engineer. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Firmware, Electrical Engineering, and Test and is a hybrid role requiring on-site days at our office in Mountain View, CA.
Roles & Responsibilities | What you'll do:
- Own the formal firmware validation process:
- Write test plans, test reports and standard test methods
- Document identified issues, verification of resolved issues
- Execute formal test cases
- Translate high-level requirements into use cases and test procedures
- Analyze and review product specifications (e.g. product requirement specifications, system, functional and design specifications) to ensure product quality, safety, reliability, and testability
- Closely work with with test automation and firmware engineers to
- Maintain the automated test system for pump firmware
- Continue automating existing manual test procedures
- Develop and maintain the BLE connectivity test framework
- Develop ideas for new test fixtures
- Be responsible for Mobile App connectivity and integration testing.
- Formal verification of various development, testing and manufacturing tools.
This a hybrid role requiring some days in office in Mountain View, CA. The base salary range is $180,000-$205,000/year depending on experience.
Experience | What you'll bring:
- 8 years experience with firmware / embedded systems
- At least 5 years experience writing test cases, conducting integration and system level testing
- Strong knowledge of software and hardware testing methodology
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira
- Experience with requirements and test case management tools (eg. Jama)
- Ability to work on multiple projects, manage your own priorities and schedule
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) on an individual basis, as well as with larger groups
- Extensive experience working on medical devices
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent experience
